Pavements you can push a buggy along, parks, museums, covered walkways and shops that work. Nowhere else in the metro comes close for a family.
The heat index runs 35–45°C from March to May and is never gentle. Museums and malls exist precisely to absorb the middle of the day.
April is the hottest monthBag checks and wands at every mall, station, hotel and arena. Perfunctory but mandatory, and worth warning children about so it is not alarming. Budget thirty seconds a door.
Rail is crushed at rush hour and has no lifts at many stations. Grab across a district is ₱150–300 and takes car seats about as seriously as anywhere else in Southeast Asia — which is to say, bring your own if that matters to you.
Restaurants, malls and strangers are warm with kids in a way that surprises most visitors. Staff will offer to hold a baby. It is meant kindly and it is completely normal.
