Almost every page on the internet still describes a Manila ferry that stopped running in June 2020. Here is what actually happens in 2026.
The island fortress that held out until May 1942 is still visitable, but not the way older guides describe. Sun Cruises stopped its Manila ferry in June 2020 and never resumed. In 2026 access runs overland to Mariveles in Bataan — three to three and a half hours by road — then a 20-minute boat. Door to door that is 13 to 14 hours at ₱4,500–6,500. Tours advertised as “Corregidor day tours from Manila” are land transfers via Bataan, not a ferry. There is no hotel on the island. A Manila ferry relaunch is perennially rumoured — recheck before you plan.
What actually happens in 2026
This is the single most out-of-date fact in Manila travel writing, and it is worth stating plainly.
The ferry. Sun Cruises ran the Manila–Corregidor service from the CCP Complex terminal for decades. It stopped in June 2020 and has not resumed. Manila-departure sailings now exist only as occasional charters. Anything you read describing a morning ferry from Manila Bay is describing 2019.
How people actually get there. Overland to Mariveles, Bataan — around three to three and a half hours by road — then roughly twenty minutes by boat across the North Channel. Operators run join-in trips from about US$50 for the island portion; door-to-door packages including the Manila transfer run ₱4,500–6,500.
What OTAs are selling. Products titled “Corregidor day tour from Manila” are legitimate but are land transfers via Bataan with hotel pickup, typically 13 to 14 hours door to door. Read the itinerary before you book so the 4am pickup is not a surprise.
The better version. Chain it with Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac, Bataan, as an overnight. That turns a punishing 14-hour day into a comfortable two-day trip and gives you the heritage-village half of Bataan as well.
What is on the island. The Malinta Tunnel, the Pacific War Memorial, the ruined Mile-Long Barracks, gun batteries and the Japanese Garden of Peace. No hotel. Bring water and sun cover — there is very little shade.

How long is the Corregidor tour?
